US spot Ethereum ETFs have seen net outflows for 23 straight trading days, the longest losing streak since the funds launched, Glassnode reports.

The record streak nobody wanted

US spot Ethereum ETFs have now posted net outflows for 23 consecutive trading days, the longest such streak since the products launched.

Because spot Ethereum ETFs are the main route for institutions and traditional finance participants to gain exposure to Ethereum without directly holding the token, their flows are widely used as a key gauge of regulated-market demand.

A 23-day bleed is therefore not a footnote — it is a sustained signal that the buying side of the traditional market has gone quiet.

Why the streak is so surprising

What makes the record striking is how quickly sentiment flipped. Glassnode noted that investors actively accumulated Ethereum through August and September, then shifted to net outflows — a sharp reversal of the strong buying activity seen just weeks earlier.

According to Glassnode, the withdrawals reflect weakening investor demand for Ethereum exposure in traditional financial markets.

The numbers behind the bleed

24/7 Wall St.'s ETF Examiner desk reports that Ethereum ETFs lost another $155.7 million on October 30, marking the 11th straight day of losses at that point, and shed $1,606.9 million overall in October.

The iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA) led the outflows that day with $76.6 million, and its shares fell 4.5% to $50.42, down 16.5% over the past month.

Net assets for Ethereum ETFs dropped to $13.22 billion from $17.71 billion at the start of October — a decline of nearly $4.49 billion from outflows and price declines combined. Ethereum trades around $2,256, down 16% this month and 54.4% from its all-time high.

The stakes for regulated-market demand

The outflow streak matters beyond Ethereum itself.

When investors sell ETF shares, funds can be forced to sell or return the underlying token, increasing market supply and pressuring prices — a dynamic 24/7 Wall St. describes in the Bitcoin context but one that applies mechanically to ETH funds as well.

With Bitcoin ETFs also flipping negative, turning October's $111.2 million gain into a $515 million net loss after $626.3 million left in just two sessions, the crypto ETF complex as a whole is seeing regulated-market demand retreat.

Glassnode, per KuCoin, frames the ETH pattern specifically as weak demand from traditional investors after the heavy inflows of August and September.

What comes next

Glassnode did not provide specific figures for cumulative net outflows during the 23-day run or flows by individual ETF products, per Bloomingbit, so the full scale of the retreat remains unclear.

24/7 Wall St. points to the first weekly Bitcoin ETF flow total for November 2026 as the tell: a total above the $202.4 million lost in the week ending October 30 would make the October 30 rout look like a one-day blip, while continued IBIT outflows and an Ethereum streak stuck in red would keep withdrawals setting the pace into year-end.

Until flows turn, the longest losing streak in the product's history remains the benchmark to beat.
