Iron Maiden Reverse 2027 Break, Add 16 Final Tour Dates

A Break They Decided Not to Take

Iron Maiden had planned to take a break from live performances in 2027, but on October 16 the band and Live Nation announced a surprise third and final North American leg of the 50th anniversary Run For Your Lives tour.

Sixteen shows will run from April 14 at the Tacoma Dome through a May 16 festival headline slot at Boardwalk Rock in Ocean City, Maryland.

Bassist Steve Harris said the band enjoyed the recent USA and Canada leg so much that, after a chat, they decided to take the show to regions they missed, particularly the North West and South East.

Reaching the Cities They Skipped

The new itinerary deliberately targets markets the 2026 leg bypassed. According to Consequence, the routing adds Vancouver, Dallas, Atlanta and other cities that did not appear on the recently completed North American run.

The spring itinerary moves through the Pacific Northwest, California, Arizona, Texas, Florida and the eastern United States, mixing indoor and outdoor venues, with the full dramatic production promised for every date.

Harris added that the band has long enjoyed European festivals and wanted to try two more in the USA, calling festivals a challenge the band loves.

An All-British Bill, First Since 1983

The final leg carries a three-band British lineup that the band's own announcement says has not been assembled since 1983: Bullet for My Valentine and The Raven Age join Maiden on all headlining dates.

Bullet for My Valentine recently announced the album 'Social Apocalypse', due March 19, 2027, and these will be their first North American shows since a co-headline run with Trivium. The Raven Age recently supported Maiden on several South and Central American dates.

Eddie's Dive Bars, the tour's pop-up fan gatherings, will also return for the final leg.

The Numbers Behind the Reversal

The stakes of the extension show in the tour's tally: by its end, the Run For Your Lives tour will have played 107 shows to well over three million fans across 36 countries, per the band's announcement.

Manager Rod Smallwood noted the 2026 leg drew huge multi-generational sell-out crowds, some of the band's biggest North American shows ever, and Maiden's first US stadium headlining performances.

He also stressed that the band has sold out North American arenas since 1983 despite never having a track reach the Billboard Hot 100, crediting word of mouth over radio support.

Festival Farewell at Sonic Temple and Boardwalk Rock

The leg ends with two festival headliners.

TicketNews reports Iron Maiden is the first announced headliner of Sonic Temple 2027, performing Friday, May 14 at Historic Crew Stadium in Columbus, on a bill with A Perfect Circle, Primus, Clutch and others; the sold-out 2026 edition drew more than 184,000 fans.

The final scheduled Run For Your Lives performance follows on May 16 at Boardwalk Rock in Ocean City, Maryland, whose remaining lineup is still to be announced, according to ReadJunk.
