Apothecary Diaries S3 Drops Creditless Yorushika Opening

Anime Corner reports The Apothecary Diaries Season 3 premiered October 2 with a creditless Yorushika opening, ahead of a December film.

According to Anime Corner, The Apothecary Diaries Season 3 released its creditless opening sequence just ahead of its premiere today, October 2. The opening features Yorushika's new song "Beyond the Clouds, Only Me Downwind" (Kumo wo Nuke Kazashimo e Watashi Dake), which Anime Corner notes was written, composed and arranged by n-buna. Anime Corner credits the opening animation as storyboarded and directed by Ayaka Nakata, with Yukiko Nakatani as chief animation director and Kaori Saito of Wish as animation director. For fans, a same-day creditless drop means the full sequence can be savored before the episode itself even lands.

The striking detail Anime Corner flags is a change behind the camera: studio OLM is back to handle animation production, while TOHO animation STUDIO is notably absent from the staff credits list — a shift fans of the earlier seasons will read closely. The full staff, as previously revealed and listed by Anime Corner, includes director Akinori Fudesaka, series composition by Norihiro Naganuma, character design by Yukiko Nakatani, and music by Satoru Kosaki, Kevin Penkin and Arisa Okehazama. A new season, a new studio configuration, and a brand-new Yorushika theme make this premiere more than a routine return.

Anime Corner reports the season is explicitly a runway to something bigger: an upcoming film premiering in Japan on December 11 with an original story written by the author Natsu Hyuuga herself. The second cour of Season 3 is then scheduled for April 2027, giving the franchise an unusually long runway of new material. The franchise's momentum does not stop there — Anime Corner also points to the recently announced first live-action series adaptation, the first console game, and an anime greenlight for Hyuuga's manga The Failure at God School. Few light novel properties are expanding across film, television, and games at once.

The premiere lands amid a wider weekend of franchise-funnel marketing. Yahoo reports that Marvel released the first three episodes of WandaVision for free on YouTube two weeks before the October 14 premiere of VisionQuest, a similar move of front-loading older material to prime audiences for the next chapter. For The Apothecary Diaries, the path ahead per Anime Corner runs through the December 11 film's original story and the April 2027 second cour, with Crunchyroll's New York Comic Con 2026 lineup — which Anime Corner says includes the series — likely to add more news. October 2 is only the opening move.
