Wealthtech startup Zomint raised Rs 36 crore from Lightspeed and Prime Venture Partners to scale expert-led wealth management for non-rich families.
What Happened: A Rs 36 Crore Seed Round
Wealth management startup Zomint has raised Rs 36 crore (about $3.75 million) in a seed funding round from Lightspeed and Prime Venture Partners, according to multiple outlets including Entrackr and Siliconindia. Founded in 2025 by Aman Mittal and Shavir Bansal, the company says it will use the proceeds to expand its wealth and investment teams, strengthen its technology platform and build an investor education ecosystem, with part of the money funding content-led distribution in new formats and regional languages. Zomint pairs customers with dedicated wealth experts supported by investment research and AI tools that consolidate portfolio information, past conversations and research.
Why It's Surprising: Wealth Advice Below HNI Thresholds
Most wealth managers chase high-net-worth clients, but Zomint is aiming a step below that. Bharat Fast reports the startup targets working professionals and families building long-term wealth, with a deliberately low entry point: a monthly SIP of Rs 25,000 or a lump-sum investment of Rs 5 lakh, both well below the thresholds private banking desks usually apply. That positioning puts a seeded venture-backed platform squarely in territory traditionally served by human relationship managers rather than apps, betting that expert-led advice plus AI tooling can scale profitably at these lower account sizes.
The Evidence: 97% Retention and Organic Growth
The company says it has retained 97% of its clients since launch despite market volatility, and that nearly one in three clients made additional investments through the platform within three months of their initial engagement. Each relationship manager currently serves more than 250 families, supported by investment specialists and AI-enabled tools. Notably, Zomint says it acquired its entire customer base organically through Bekifaayati, the personal finance content platform founded by COO Shavir Bansal, which claims more than 50 lakh subscribers on YouTube and Instagram — meaning the company says it has spent nothing on paid customer acquisition.
Who's Behind It: Flipkart Product to Wealthtech
CEO Aman Mittal previously held product leadership roles at Flipkart and Pine Labs, while COO Shavir Bansal also founded Bekifaayati, the finance content platform whose audience now doubles as Zomint's distribution channel. The company operates as an AMFI-registered mutual fund distributor, with offerings spanning equity, debt, hybrid, gold and silver, and global funds, including GIFT City funds, according to TradingView and Bharat Fast. Customers get a dashboard to track investments while experts review portfolios and recommend actions based on financial goals and fund performance, and the startup plans to expand beyond domestic mutual funds into other investment and financial services.
The Stakes: A Crowded Wealthtech Segment
The round lands amid growing investor interest in wealth management, investment research and portfolio technology startups. TradingView reports the broader segment includes platforms such as Centricity, Novelty Wealth, Tijori and StockGro, though their offerings and target customers differ, and notes StockGro has also raised Rs 110 crore as part of an ongoing Series B.
What Comes Next: Scaling Teams and Reach
With the seed capital from Lightspeed and Prime Venture Partners, Zomint is focused on scaling its wealth management and investment teams while developing the technology infrastructure supporting its advisors, Indian Startup Times reports. The company is also pushing its content-led distribution into new formats and regional languages, extending the Bekifaayati playbook that got it here without paid marketing.
