Cohen, who told 'The Making Of' podcast that the Season 14 closer was the sixth potential series finale the writing team has produced — and that they are now already working on what he calls the seventh, thanks to the three XXXL-sized specials still in production for Hulu.

Writing an ending without knowing whether more episodes will follow is, per Cohen, a situation the team has 'probably been in more than any other show in history.'
