TikTok and Made By Us Studios struck a multiyear microseries deal at MIPCOM, with Hannah Stocking and Adam Rose headlining the first two projects.

What Happened at MIPCOM

TikTok announced its second major microseries partnership, this time with Made By Us Studios, the production arm of creator management company Made By All.

The multiyear deal, unveiled during TikTok's presentation at MIPCOM Cannes, will co-produce a slate of creator-led vertical series exclusively for TikTok and its microdrama app PineDrama.

The first two projects star comedy creator Hannah Stocking and actor-creator Adam Rose, each leading their own series, according to TheWrap and The Hollywood Reporter.

The First Two Series

Stocking's series, 'Player,' is a romantic revenge thriller produced by Jonas Barnes, written by Arun Blair-Mangat and Chela Reyna, and directed by Louiza Zouzias, with Stocking earning a co-story credit and executive producing.

Rose will star opposite Zaria Simone of 'Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin' in a 'genre microseries' called 'The Knock,' created and directed by R.H.

Stavis and executive produced by Spooky Pictures alongside Moby's Little Walnut Productions, with Moby also composing the music, The Hollywood Reporter reports.

A Video-First Star Is Proof of the Format

This is not Stocking's first microseries role. According to TheWrap, she previously played a supporting role as a 'cunning mean girl' in 'Playback,' one of the first-ever SAG-affiliated microdramas.

Her rise from short-form comedy to starring and executive-producing a scripted vertical thriller shows how creators are now carrying franchises into a format that barely existed two years ago.

Why This Deal Matters

'Micro-series are pioneering a new language of storytelling,' TikTok's global head of entertainment and micro-series Dawn Yang said in a statement carried by both outlets, adding that the slate puts creators at the center 'to tell stories designed for the feed from the start.'

Made By Us Studios co-CEO Tanya Cohen told The Hollywood Reporter that the opportunity 'isn't to make smaller versions of television — it's to build an entirely new premium storytelling language' with creators who arrive with audience and cultural relevance already built in.

The Stakes: Building on a Record Hit

The pressure is real.

TikTok's first microseries collaboration, with Issa Rae's Hoorae Media, produced 'Screen Time,' which has amassed nearly 580 million views across TikTok and PineDrama since its April premiere and stands as the top-performing show ever on the two platforms, per TheWrap and The Hollywood Reporter.

What Comes Next

It also marks the second time this week that TikTok has moved aggressively to formalize relationships with the creator class, following its separate Disney licensing pact — a sign that platforms are competing to sign creators to premium, scripted deals rather than waiting for virality to find them, TheWrap and The Hollywood Reporter both suggest in their coverage.
