What's on Netflix reports the Manifest spin-off 'Arrivals: A New Manifest Mystery' begins filming in Vancouver from January 19 to June 9, 2027.

Cameras Roll in Vancouver This January

The Manifest universe is officially moving into production. According to What's on Netflix, latest production listings have the first spin-off, Arrivals: A New Manifest Mystery, filming in Vancouver, British Columbia from January 19, 2027 through June 9, 2027 — a shoot of almost five months.

Collider and Netflix Junkie both picked up the same listings, marking a clear shift for the franchise: the original Manifest shot primarily in New York, where its story was set, while the spin-off moves the story to Denver and production to one of the busiest hubs for Netflix series.

Episodes are listed at around 60 minutes each, though the episode count is not confirmed.

Why the Spin-Off Is a Franchise Reversal

The surprise here is the arc of the franchise itself. As Collider recounts, NBC cancelled Manifest in June 2021 after three seasons because it no longer fit the network's ratings model, and Netflix rescued the series — then renewed it for a supersized 20-episode fourth and final season.

Five years after that save, Netflix announced the spin-off on 828 Day, August 28, 2026.

Netflix Junkie notes the release reframes a cancelled cult show into an expanding universe, and What's on Netflix points to why: Manifest has racked up 130 million views, and season four spent nine weeks on the Global Top 10 English TV list while hitting #1 in over 90 tracked countries.

Who's Behind and In Front of the Camera

Original Manifest creator Jeff Rake returns as co-creator and co-showrunner, joined by Margaret Easley and Laura Putney, both former co-executive producers on the mothership show, per What's on Netflix.

Robert Zemeckis and Jack Rapke executive produce through Compari Entertainment, alongside Len Goldstein and Jacqueline Levine, with Tall Baby Productions and Warner Bros. Television attached.

No actors are announced yet, but character breakdowns reveal the leads: Zoe, a foster-care-raised social worker in her 20s, and Mike Deaver, a former Air Force helicopter pilot turned novice DHS agent in his 20s to early 30s.

Series regulars also include Wes, Sloane, Billy and Selena, with recurring roles for DHS Director Gary Bolton and Francisco.

The New Mystery, and What Fans Are Reading Into It

The official logline, quoted by What's on Netflix and Netflix Junkie, follows a mysterious plane crash-landing in Denver whose passengers emerge with no memory of who they are, where they came from, or why they're here.

A young social worker and a novice Homeland Security agent team up with the new arrivals to stop a humanity-ending catastrophe, discovering they are all part of the very puzzle they're trying to solve.

What's on Netflix flags telling gaps in the breakdowns: Joe is mentioned twice but has no breakdown of his own, and Wes has lived off the grid raising Sloane and Joe 'for years' — hints, the outlet suggests, that some characters know far more than they let on.

Nothing confirms any original Manifest cast returning.

When Arrivals Could Land on Netflix

With filming wrapping in June 2027 and heavy visual effects expected, What's on Netflix predicts Arrivals won't hit Netflix until early 2028 at the earliest, calling a late 2027 release ambitious — Netflix Junkie, without a date, frames the spin-off simply as slated for 2027.

Episode count is unconfirmed; What's on Netflix expects a typical Netflix order of 8 to 10 rather than anything close to the final season's 20 episodes. Casting is led by Libby Goldstein and Junie Lowry-Johnson, the duo who cast the original series, per What's on Netflix.

In the meantime, all four seasons of Manifest are streaming on Netflix now for anyone wanting a rewatch before the new arrivals touch down.
