Chad Lowe Mourns Daughter Fiona After Death at 13

Fiona Hepler Lowe, the 13-year-old daughter of Chad Lowe and Kim Painter, has died, and her grieving family is asking for prayers and privacy.

Fiona Hepler Lowe, the middle daughter of actor Chad Lowe and Kim Painter, has died at age 13, a development confirmed to People by the Lowe family in a statement published by Variety. The family wrote that they were "deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona," describing her as "a loving young girl who was smart, creative, and loved to dance." In the statement carried by both Variety and Page Six, the family added that Fiona "was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents. In fact, she was the light of our lives." Both outlets report that the cause of death has not been disclosed. According to Variety, Fiona was born on November 16, 2012, and was weeks shy of her 14th birthday. Page Six recounts that Chad Lowe had often spoken publicly about his devotion to his three daughters. During a December 2025 interview on the "Still Here Hollywood" podcast, the former "Life Goes On" actor called being a "girl dad" "such a privilege," telling the show that fathering daughters "takes what I have known intellectually about women... and put it in my heart because I now have three daughters." Page Six also reports that last February, after Los Angeles-area fires destroyed the family's house, Lowe praised how his wife and daughters handled the loss, writing that he was "in awe of their spirit and resilience" and that "being their dad is my life's greatest joy and privilege." According to Variety, Fiona's middle name, Hepler, was the maiden name of Lowe's late mother and is also his brother Rob's middle name.
