Davante Adams will miss six to 10 weeks with a ruptured hamstring tendon, and the 2-4 Rams also lost Poona Ford and kicker Blake Grupe for the season.

A Non-Contact Injury Ends Adams' Night — and Possibly Two Months

Wide receiver Davante Adams suffered a non-contact injury late in the Rams' 18-16 loss to the Arizona Cardinals, pulling up while running a route into the end zone and reaching for his left leg before hobbling off.

On Monday, head coach Sean McVay told reporters the 33-year-old is expected to miss six to 10 weeks with what McVay called a ruptured semitendinosus in his hamstring.

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Adams is expected to have a procedure on his hamstring tendon, with the hope he returns around the team's Week 11 bye or shortly after.

ESPN reports the procedure will be performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache, and that a source said Adams hopes to return on the front end of the timeline.

Why It Hurts: Adams Was Having a Career-Best Season

Adams was the Rams' receiving yards leader through six weeks, with 30 receptions for 480 yards and four touchdowns, and a 16.0 yards-per-catch average that would be the best of his career. He was also the team's only pass catcher with multiple touchdown receptions.

The bulk of that production came in two huge games — 195 yards against the Giants and 137 at the Broncos — but NBC Sports notes he still led the NFL in touchdown catches last year despite a hamstring injury that cost him the final three regular-season games.

The Injury List Runs Far Beyond Adams

McVay's Monday news conference was a litany of bad news. Nose tackle Poona Ford is out for the season with a ruptured triceps, and kicker Blake Grupe tore his ACL and was placed on injured reserve, with ESPN reporting the Rams will work out veteran kickers Brandon McManus and Matt Prater on Tuesday.

Defensive tackle Kobie Turner is headed to injured reserve with a groin injury, guaranteeing at least a four-game absence, and ESPN reports cornerback Trent McDuffie, who missed Sunday with a groin issue, is progressing and will ramp up this week.

Pass rusher Myles Garrett, on injured reserve since September knee surgery, will not return to practice this week either.

What's Next: Roster Moves and the Raiders Trip

McVay said the Rams will discuss whether to add a receiver with Adams out, and the remaining depth chart is thin: Puka Nacua, who had six catches for 80 yards Sunday, leads the group, with Konata Mumpfield, Jordan Whittington, Tutu Atwell, C.J. Daniels and Alex Bachman behind him.

Mumpfield flashed with 93 yards and a score in one game Nacua missed. Both Adams and Turner are team captains, per the Orange County Register, so Los Angeles must steady itself without two of its leaders.

The Stakes: Super Bowl Odds Collapse in Los Angeles

The Rams entered the season with Super Bowl expectations after adding Garrett, McDuffie and a retired Aaron Donald, and ESPN Research notes they opened as 5-1 Super Bowl favorites at DraftKings. Those odds fell to 10-1 after the Cardinals' upset and now sit at 12-1.

Los Angeles is last in the NFC West on tiebreakers behind the 2-4 Cardinals, staring up at the 3-3 Seahawks and the unbeaten 49ers. McVay summed up the moment: "We've taken some shots this year, and we've got to be able to get up and keep swinging. This is a good test."
