New reports say Kim Jones's revived namesake label will be made predominantly in Japan, drop monthly online from mid-2027, and open in Hong Kong.

What WWD and MR reveal about the new label

Fresh details on Kim Jones's revived eponymous menswear label emerged from WWD and MR Magazine this week, going beyond the announcement itself.

WWD reports the collection has been designed with "versatility at its core," at a "considered" price point, aiming to offer a "broader wardrobe unrestricted by traditional categories."

MR Magazine confirms the label was first launched in 2003 and closed in 2008 when Jones became creative director of Alfred Dunhill, making this a true relaunch rather than a debut. Both outlets name Lucy Beeden, his longtime design director at Dior Men, as overseeing collections.

A gender-neutral wardrobe with archive callbacks

Fashion Times UK reports the new KIM JONES label is built around gender-neutral fashion, focusing on menswear, tailoring and versatile designs that move beyond traditional gender categories.

According to Fashion Times UK, citing The Business of Fashion, the debut collection will revisit pieces from Jones's archive, including reversible smoking jackets and patchwork shirts.

WWD adds that the collection's stated aim is a wardrobe unrestricted by traditional categories, which positions the label closer to the gender-blurring work Jones showed at Dior Men's Summer 2024 collection than to a conventional house relaunch.

The rollout: kimjones.com first, then Hong Kong

WWD reports the collection will land mid-2027 exclusively on kimjones.com, followed by a first store at Central Yards in Hong Kong in October 2027.

Luxury Tribune says the planned boutique spans over 350 square metres in the Henderson Land-developed complex, and notes Hong Kong retail sales rose 5.6 per cent year-on-year in August, with jewellery and watch sales up 11.9 per cent, per Xinhua.

Fashion Times UK adds that two annual collections will be sold through monthly product drops, with further Asian stores and selected retail partnerships planned.

Why Japan and Asia sit at the centre

WWD reports that production will take place predominantly in Japan, with leather goods crafted in Italy and design based in a London studio — a three-country structure Luxury Tribune also describes.

Jones told WWD last year, "I just think Asia's got the pulse at the moment. I think it's an Asian century."

The outlet notes that a large part of Dior Men's sales came from the region during his seven-year tenure, and that since leaving Dior in early 2025 he has built regional projects including the Areal premium line with Bosideng, an Aman capsule and a collaboration with carmaker Avatrand.

The bet he is making

Luxury Tribune frames the challenge bluntly: Jones must transform a reputation built at luxury giants into a profitable business in a struggling global luxury market, with capital invested and collection prices not yet disclosed.

The outlet points to his 2025 partnership with Bosideng, which it says turned over 27.35 billion yuan in its 2025–2026 financial year — over 4 billion dollars — as a powerful industrial partner for the region.

WWD, meanwhile, stresses creative independence as the motive: Jones says the label gives him "the space to work with people I admire and explore new ideas."

What comes next for the label

The calendar is now set: WWD reports an exclusive mid-2027 launch on kimjones.com, an October 2027 flagship at Central Yards in Hong Kong, then expansion across Asia and through selected retail partners.

MR Magazine confirms design will be based in a London studio with Japanese production and Italian leather goods, and Fashion Times UK says pricing is described as "considered" though no figures are public.
