Naruto Limited Anime Reveal Set for NYCC on Oct. 10

VIZ Media confirmed a new limited Naruto TV anime will be detailed at a 'NARUTO: What's Next?' NYCC panel on October 10, Naruto's birthday.

VIZ Media confirmed on September 29 that a new "limited" Naruto TV anime series is in development, with full details withheld until New York Comic Con 2026. The official Naruto X account teased, "Exciting NARUTO news is coming to NYCC 2026... Details on the New NARUTO TV Anime Limited Series will be revealed at the NARUTO Special Stage." The announcement caps years of silence on a project fans feared had quietly died.

The "NARUTO: What's Next?" panel runs Saturday, October 10, from 5 to 6 p.m. EDT at the Javits Center's Empire Stage — deliberately scheduled on Naruto Uzumaki's canonical birthday. The livestream runs on the NARUTO/BORUTO Official YouTube Channel worldwide, reaching Japan as 6 to 7 a.m. JST on Sunday, October 11. New York Comic Con itself runs October 8–11 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

Junko Takeuchi and Noriaki Sugiyama, the Japanese voices of Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha, will appear — actors Complex notes have played the roles for over two decades. They join Yoshihiro Tominaga, executive producer at Pierrot Films, the studio behind the franchise's anime. Their presence has, according to Kursiv Media, heightened expectations for a significant revelation regarding the core characters.

The new TV anime has its own mysteries: Animation Xpress reports a four-episode 20th-anniversary anime was announced in 2023 for a September 3 release, but was postponed shortly before premiere to raise production quality, with Flow previously set to perform its themes. Polygon speculates the reveal could finally detail that delayed project — possibly a full remake on the scale of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War — noting Pierrot has been busy with that series, which concludes October 26. Whether it is the same project remains unclear.

The panel will also share new details and a promotional video for the Naruto Card Game, a Bandai trading card game confirmed for a global launch in 2027. Beyond that, Complex reports Lionsgate's live-action adaptation with Destin Daniel Cretton directing opened global casting for Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura on July 10. The anime currently broadcasts in over 145 countries and regions.
