Apple Opens $250M Siri Settlement Claims of Up to $95

Apple's $250 million Siri settlement is now open, letting eligible iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 buyers claim up to $95 per device by December 21, 2026.

The claim window is now open for Apple's $250 million class-action settlement over claims the company overhyped its Apple Intelligence tools, specifically the long-delayed Siri AI overhaul. The settlement covers US customers who bought certain iPhone 15 or iPhone 16 models directly from Apple between June 10, 2024 and March 29, 2025. Claims must be filed at smartphoneaisettlement.com by December 21, 2026. Apple denies any wrongdoing, saying it resolved the matter 'to stay focused on doing what we do best, delivering the most innovative products and services to our users.'

According to CBS News, Ryan Clarkson, co-lead counsel on the class-action lawsuit and founder of Clarkson Law Firm, called the fund 'the largest false advertising settlement in history.' That framing underscores how unusual this case is: buyers say they purchased new iPhones expecting Siri features that Apple then delayed, and the company is now paying cash for that gap. Apple declined to comment to CBS News and has previously denied the allegations.

To file, visit smartphoneaisettlement.com and click the blue 'File A Claim' button in the top-right corner. You do not need a Claim ID and PIN to start, but on the final page you must provide either your iPhone's serial number or your Apple Account ID. The serial number is found in Settings, then General, then About. CBS News reports filers must also enter their name, address and phone number, and that only the original purchaser who bought the phone for personal or professional use — not resale — may claim. Payment options are PayPal, Venmo, direct deposit or a paper check. If you own multiple eligible devices, you must fill out a separate form for each one, since the site limits claimants to one cash payment per eligible device.

CBS News reports that customers with valid claims will initially receive $25 per eligible device, an amount that may be increased up to $95 or decreased depending on the total number of valid claims submitted and other factors. Payment timing depends on court approval: a district court in San Jose, California, will hold a hearing on February 24, 2027, to decide whether to approve the settlement, and any appeals could delay the process. According to the claims website, if there is no appeal, settlement benefits will be processed promptly. WCPO's 'Don't Waste Your Money' warns consumers to watch for copycat offers, noting that Apple will not ask for your Social Security number or bank account number to send settlement cash. LegalShield attorney Eileen Spangrud told WCPO that Apple settlements are worth pursuing: 'If it is something that's relatively easy to do, maybe five or ten minutes, you know, you've got the receipts, I would there's not a downside to submitting that.' WCPO also advises not deleting the notification email, citing a viewer who nearly discarded a legitimate $25 Apple Watch settlement check thinking it was a scam.
