Paramount+ has renewed the hit Yellowstone spin-off, with Taylor Sheridan set to join the writers' room and production slated to begin in early 2027.

Paramount+ officially renewed Taylor Sheridan's Yellowstone spin-off Dutton Ranch on Wednesday, June 24, ahead of Episode 8, according to Decider. The renewal came as little surprise: per the Paramount+ press release cited by Decider, the series drew 12.9 million global viewers in the seven days after its premiere, the biggest Original Series launch in Paramount+ history, and its two-episode May 15 debut on Paramount Network delivered 2.9 million total viewers, the biggest cable series premiere since 2023. Dutton Ranch Season 1 followed Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) as they left Montana to build a new ranch in Rio Paloma, Texas, ending with cartel kidnappers threatening their son Carter in the Episode 9 finale, per Decider. The season holds a Certified Fresh 89% Tomatometer rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which both Decider and ScreenRant note. Yet ScreenRant reports that behind the scenes the season was strained: showrunner Chad Feehan departed three weeks before the premiere amid reported clashes, and was replaced by Benjamin Cavell.
