Crunchyroll and Aniplex have announced the theatrical film Solo Leveling: Beyond the System, continuing the story after Season 2, per FilmInk.
What Was Announced
Crunchyroll, in collaboration with Aniplex, announced that the theatrical anime feature film *Solo Leveling: Beyond the System* is now in production. According to FilmInk, the film will be a direct continuation of the series, picking up following the events of Season 2 (*Arise from the Shadows*).
The announcement included the reveal of the English title and a new teaser key visual, though no additional details about the film have been revealed.
Crunchyroll will co-produce alongside Aniplex, Netmarble, D&C MEDIA, and Kakao Piccoma, with animation by acclaimed studio A-1 Pictures (*Sword Art Online*).
Why It Matters to Fans
A theatrical continuation is a striking escalation for a series that fans know as a Korean web novel turned global webtoon phenomenon.
Per FilmInk, *Solo Leveling* was created by Chugong, illustrated by DUBU (REDICE STUDIO), and adapted by h-goon, published by D&C MEDIA, and has exceeded 650 million page views on Japan's digital manga and novel platform Piccoma.
FilmInk's report frames the film as the adaptation fans around the world have been waiting for, moving Sung Jinwoo's saga — the weakest Hunter rising to the strongest — onto the big screen.
The Story So Far
FilmInk's synopsis of the property describes a world where mysterious portals known as Gates connect different dimensions to reality, and where humans with special abilities called Hunters exist.
Sung Jinwoo, the lowest-ranked Hunter and widely regarded as "the weakest weapon of mankind," suddenly gains the unique ability to level up and, overcoming countless trials, rises from the weakest to become the strongest.
Fans can catch up while they wait: per FilmInk, the first two seasons are currently available on Crunchyroll.
