Pelosi Bets on Bloom Energy, Intel
By @sharedot · · 8 pages
Pelosi's first disclosed Bloom Energy buy and Intel adds land amid the AI power boom.
A First-Ever Disclosure
According to Quiver Quantitative, Nancy Pelosi disclosed her first-ever reported trade in Bloom Energy, purchasing 15,000 shares and 200 call options alongside an additional 10,000 Intel shares and 50 Intel call options. Seeking Alpha confirms the congresswoman purchased positions in both Intel (INTC) and Bloom Energy (BE). The disclosed transaction-value ranges across the Bloom and Intel purchases total $3 million to $12 million, though Quiver Quantitative notes that congressional disclosure ranges do not reveal the exact amount invested. The purchases mark a notable expansion of Pelosi's portfolio into the AI infrastructure power theme at a time when both companies sit at the center of the data-center buildout narrative.

A Contrarian Signal Amid a Selloff
The Bloom Energy purchase stands out because it arrives as the stock has been in sharp decline. According to TradingView, Bloom Energy stock has slumped from its year-to-date high of $350 to around $200, declining for seven consecutive sessions and reaching its lowest level since August 3. The Motley Fool reports the stock has sunk 13.5% in a single week and is more than 40% off its 2026 highs.

Details of the Trades
According to Quiver Quantitative, Pelosi's Bloom Energy purchase included 15,000 shares and 200 call options representing contracts on as many as 20,000 additional shares if they are standard 100-share contracts. She also added 10,000 Intel shares and 50 Intel call options, building on an existing position that included 200 Intel $50-strike calls with a March 2027 expiration previously disclosed on May 29. Seeking Alpha separately confirms the purchase of 50 call options on Intel with a $50 strike price.

The Intel-Bloom Connection
The link between Bloom Energy and Intel extends beyond portfolio diversification. According to Quiver Quantitative, Bloom has supplied fuel-cell power to Intel's Santa Clara data center since 2014, and announced an expansion in 2024 that it said would create Silicon Valley's largest fuel-cell-powered high-performance computing data center. Quiver Quantitative also reports that Bloom announced an expanded agreement with Oracle supporting up to 2.8 GW of fuel-cell capacity, including 1.2 GW already being deployed across U.S. projects.

Valuation vs. Growth Tension
Bloom Energy's fundamentals are accelerating but its valuation remains a flashpoint. TradingView reports that second-quarter revenue soared 165% to $1.06 billion and gross margins jumped from 26.7% to 33.4%, helped by a $25 billion deal with Brookfield and partnerships with Oracle and Nebius. The Motley Fool highlights that Bloom expects approximately $4 billion in revenue this year, doubling last year's sales, and recently introduced a Power Connect system that can reduce onsite power installation time by more than 40%. However, TradingView notes a forward price-to-earnings ratio of 74 on a non-GAAP basis, far above the S&P 500 average of roughly 20, and The Motley Fool places the market capitalization near $60 billion, implying growth expectations well beyond 2026.
What Comes Next
The AI infrastructure buildout underpinning Bloom's growth faces a major market test this week. Forbes reports that Nvidia, the world's largest company by market cap at roughly $5 trillion, was pacing for its seventh-straight day of declines, down over 2% to just under $210 ahead of its Wednesday earnings call. Bloomberg reported over the weekend that Nvidia told its biggest customers it would hike prices as much as 15% next year for AI-chip servers due to rising memory costs, per Forbes. Meanwhile, Quiver Quantitative notes that Bloom disclosed $60,000 in Q2 2026 lobbying on federal tax treatment of fuel cells, hydrogen, and data-center energy delivery, and has warned that permitting and political opposition to data-center development could affect its business.
