Presley Gerber, son of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, died Sunday at a rehab facility at age 27, his family's publicist confirmed to CNN.

Presley Gerber, the son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, has died at the age of 27, Crawford's representative confirmed to CNN. According to CNN, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's office said Gerber died Sunday while at a rehab facility, and the cause of death was not listed. Born in California in 1999, he followed his younger sister Kaia Gerber into modeling, making his runway debut for Moschino at just 16. He went on to walk for Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana, Bottega Veneta, Tommy Hilfiger and Ralph Lauren, and fronted campaigns for Calvin Klein, Celine, Pepsi and Omega.

CNN reports that Gerber had been open about his mental health struggles and drug use in recent years, appearing on the Studio 22 podcast in 2023 to discuss raising mental health awareness, running his own 'Mental Health Mondays' initiative and working with the LA homelessness charity A Sense of Home. In December, he posted a since-removed Instagram video detailing his use of prescription medication, including antidepressants and Xanax for panic attacks. His mother commented at the time, 'Presley — we love you and you are not alone.' Earlier this month, Kaia Gerber told American Vogue her brother's decade-long struggle with addiction had 'leveled' the family.

Just Jared reports that Paris Hilton, a longtime friend of Gerber, left a comment on his final Instagram post hours before his death was publicly revealed. According to Just Jared, Hilton wrote 'Love you bro' with heart emojis on the post on Sunday, September 20, drawing attention for its timing. Gerber's final post, which went live on August 5, featured him modeling clothing from Vuori, a brand his family has partnered with for the past year. Just Jared also notes his final red carpet appearance was at the January 20 premiere of Hilton's documentary 'Infinite Icon: A Visual Memoir.'

Crawford's publicist told CNN the family is asking for privacy during this 'very difficult and painful time.' Just Jared reports that Hilton has since released a lengthy statement about Gerber's death. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's office, per CNN, has not listed a cause of death, so further official detail may emerge in the coming days. Gerber had also worked as an investor and entrepreneur, according to his DNA Model Management biography, having signed with the agency — which also represents his sister — in 2019. He was 27 years old, and had marked his birthday just this July.
