Xbox's October wave 2 brings six Game Pass titles by October 29, led by Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade and the acclaimed horror Mouthwashing.

A Six-Title Logjam Lands in Five Days

The final days of October 2026 are unusually crowded for Xbox Game Pass subscribers.

Per Xbox Wire's official wave 2 announcement, Scramble Knights Online (Game Preview) arrives October 26, The Séance of Blake Manor October 27, and then four games stack up on October 29: Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, Mouthwashing, Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted, and Terrible Lizards.

All six come with cloud, console, and PC coverage across Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, and PC Game Pass tiers. Pure Xbox notes that several of these are day-one additions, meaning subscribers can start playing the moment they launch rather than waiting for a later library drop.

Why This Wave Surprises: FF7 Remake on a Subscription

Xbox Wire describes it as retelling the original story up to the escape from Midgar with breathtaking visuals, a hybrid battle system blending real-time action with command-based combat, and the additional Yuffie Kisaragi adventure.

Pure Xbox called it simply "an absolute banger" and said nobody needs convincing of its quality.

The Evidence: Steam Scores Back the Hype

The supporting cast around Final Fantasy VII is not filler.

According to Pure Xbox, The Séance of Blake Manor holds a "Very Positive" rating on Steam since its PC release last year, and Mouthwashing — Wrong Organ's psychological horror about the stranded crew of the freighter Tulpar — sits at "Overwhelmingly Positive" on Steam.

Pure Xbox characterizes Terrible Lizards as a "horror parkour" game with more than a few Five Nights at Freddy's vibes, set at a decaying Route 66 attraction called Dalton's Dinos where players escape by movement alone rather than fighting back.

Xbox Wire adds that it is the debut game from WDR Studios, founded by the creators behind JTMusic, and available on day one.

Beyond This Week: Seven More Games Revealed

There is a longer runway too. Notebookcheck reports that during the ID@Xbox and IGN Showcase, Microsoft revealed seven additional games joining Game Pass over the coming months and into next year — separate from the October wave 2 lineup.

The list includes Scramble Knights Online (October 26, 2026), Mouthwashing (October 29, 2026), Mr Magpie's Harmless Card Game (early 2027), CROAK (March 2027), Drill Keeper (summer 2027), No, I'm Not a Human (2027), and Red Kiss on Xbox Series X|S with no date yet.

Notebookcheck notes most of these are day-one arrivals, stretching the pipeline well beyond the current month. Xbox Wire's editor note confirms Mouthwashing was folded into the upcoming games list right after its showcase announcement.

The Stakes: Free Titles Face the Exit Door

The value cuts both ways — the same Xbox Wire post lists what is leaving.

On October 31, subscribers lose Day of the Tentacle Remastered, Dead Static Drive, Deep Rock Galactic, Full Throttle Remastered, Grim Fandango Remastered, Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, Wartales, and Wildgate, with Football Manager 26 (PC and Console Edition) following on November 10.

Xbox Wire urges subscribers to buy departing games at a discount before they go. Earlier in the month, wave 1 had already added Battlefield 6, Valor Mortis, Echo Weaver, Neon Abyss 2, and more, per IGN India — so October's churn is heavy on both sides of the ledger.

What Comes Next

Pit of Goblin, an online horror co-op where players scavenge dungeons as goblins for the Goblin King-Queen, wraps the wave on November 3 per Xbox Wire.

Subscribers should also watch the calendar edge: the nine departures on October 31 arrive just two days after the October 29 additions, meaning a single long weekend decides which of this week's games get a proper first playthrough before the library turns over again.
