Billboard reports the 'KPop Demon Hunters' soundtrack has tied the all-time record for most weeks at No. 1 on the Top Soundtracks chart with 62 weeks.

Billboard and K-Jewel 99.3 FM both report that the 'KPop Demon Hunters' soundtrack has now led Billboard's Top Soundtracks chart for 62 weeks, tying the all-time record since the chart's introduction on June 30, 2001. The soundtrack has spent 66 weeks on the chart in total, holding the top spot for all but four of them. It first reached No. 1 on July 5, 2025, and has ranked as high as No. 1 (two weeks) on the Billboard 200.

What makes the tie remarkable, per Billboard, is that the chart only dates back to 2001, meaning older blockbuster soundtracks like 'West Side Story,' 'The Sound of Music,' and 'Saturday Night Fever' were never eligible. Billboard notes the only pre-2001 album on the list is The Vince Guaraldi Trio's 'A Charlie Brown Christmas,' which qualified solely because of its chart performance since 2001. Tying that mark means the K-pop-rooted soundtrack now stands alongside — and above — a quarter-century of musical giants.

Billboard's tally of the 12 soundtracks with 25 or more weeks at No. 1 places 'KPop Demon Hunters' at the top alongside Disney's 'Moana,' also at 62 weeks. The soundtrack gave way for one week each to 'Wicked: For Good,' 'A Charlie Brown Christmas,' Charli xcx's 'Wuthering Heights,' and the 'Heated Rivalry' TV miniseries soundtrack. Billboard also notes its singles 'Takedown' (performed by Twice), 'Golden' and 'How It's Done' by HUNTR/X, with 'Golden' topping the Hot 100 for eight nonconsecutive weeks.

Billboard observes that the five soundtracks with the most weeks at No. 1 are all from animated films, and the soundtrack's Oscar and Grammy wins — 'Golden' took best original song at the 2026 Oscars and best song written for visual media at the Grammys — underline how far a K-pop-rooted project has penetrated both charts and awards.
