OPPO's F35 and F35 Pro 5G land in India with 8,000mAh batteries, 50MP ultrawide selfie cameras and IP69K durability, going on sale October 11.
What Happened: Ten Years of the F Series, Marked With Two Big Phones
OPPO has launched the F35 5G and F35 Pro 5G in India, a release the company frames as a celebration of ten years of the F series in the country. The two phones go on sale from October 11 through offline retail stores, the OPPO India e-store, Flipkart and Amazon. Pricing starts at ₹38,999 for the standard F35 and ₹45,999 for the F35 Pro. The defining spec across both models is an enormous 8,000mAh battery paired with 80W SUPERVOOC charging, plus a 50MP front camera with a 100-degree field of view aimed squarely at group selfies. Pre-orders are live, with festive offers running until October 21.
Why It's Surprising: A 7,780mAh Rated Cell Under 8.4mm
A battery this size at this thickness is the headline. The F35 Pro measures just 8.4mm thick and weighs 210g despite carrying a typical 8,000mAh cell — Smartprix notes the rated capacity is actually 7,780mAh — and OPPO claims the battery retains more than 80% of its capacity after up to 1,800 charging cycles. My Mobile India adds OPPO is marketing the battery as a six-year durable component. For a midrange line historically defined by slim selfie phones, shifting the identity to marathon endurance and Rainstorm Touch, claimed to work in rainfall of up to 1,000mm/h, is a genuine reversal of the F series formula.
The Evidence: Corroborated Specs Across Outlets
Multiple outlets agree on the core hardware. Both phones run ColorOS 16.5 and carry IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings, with the Pro adding SGS shock testing per Smartprix. The F35 Pro uses a 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7360 Max with a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display at up to 144Hz, 1,800 nits full-screen brightness and a 3,600-nit peak, while the standard F35 gets a 6.57-inch FHD+ AMOLED at 120Hz with a 6nm Dimensity 6360 Max. Both share the 50MP, 100-degree autofocus selfie camera. My Mobile India reports pre-launch Geekbench scores of 850 single-core and 2,971 multi-core for the Pro on the MT6878 platform.
F35 vs F35 Pro: Where Your ₹7,000 Actually Goes
Nokiamob's comparison makes clear the Pro's premium is not about battery — capacity and 80W charging are identical. The Pro instead buys a sharper 144Hz panel, LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage versus the standard model's LPDDR4X and UFS 2.2, plus a 50MP rear camera with optical image stabilization and an 8MP ultrawide where the F35 carries only a 2MP depth sensor. The Pro records 4K video from both front and rear cameras; Nokiamob notes the standard F35 launches limited to 1080p at 60fps, with a 2.5K recording option promised through a future update. The F35 also drops to a single speaker and skips the IR blaster.
The Stakes: Camera-First Positioning in a Pricey Market
OPPO India's Head of Communications Goldee Patnaik framed the series around how consumers share moments, saying the F Series has evolved alongside changing capture habits and that the 50MP Ultra-Wide Natural Selfie Camera with a 100-degree field of view brings more people into the frame. That positioning puts the phones against a festive-season market where, according to PC-Tablet, Counterpoint Research data shows Indian smartphone prices climbed 16% on average in the first half of 2026 due to memory costs and currency pressure. Launch offers include up to 10% instant cashback, up to 10% exchange bonus, 50% off the Enco Buds 3 Pro+ and a free one-year extended warranty.
What Comes Next: Sales Open October 11
Sales begin October 11 across Flipkart, Amazon, the OPPO India e-store and offline retail, with festive offers running until October 21. The Pro ships in Sunrise Orange, Wave Blue and Twilight Brown; the F35 comes in Wave Blue, Titanium Grey and Mist Pink. Smartprix reports the F35 Pro's 8GB + 256GB model scored over 1 million on AnTuTu in OPPO's lab testing. On the software side, My Mobile India details ColorOS 16.5 features including AI Recording, AI Ultra-Clear Documents and on-device AI Call Guard, with OPPO promising three years of OS updates and four years of security patches for the F35 Pro, plus a six-month smoothness package.
