Solo Leveling: Ragnarok resumes Season 3 with new artist Sanjimseung after a 10-month hiatus caused by JIN's military enlistment.

What Happened: A New Cover and a New Artist

According to GameRant, the wait is finally over for fans of the sequel manhwa. On October 28, 2026, a new cover for Solo Leveling: Ragnarok was made public, putting Sung Suho in the spotlight and revealing the style of the series' incoming illustrator.

The D&C credits identify the new artist as Sanjimseung, whom readers may recognize as the illustrator of Ice Lord. GameRant notes this confirms that Solo Leveling: Ragnarok Season 3 is officially coming, resuming from Chapter 69 after Chapter 68 ended Season 2 back in January.

Why the Break Happened: JIN's Enlistment

The hiatus was abrupt. As GameRant recounts, JIN posted a message on January 7, 2026 revealing he could no longer draw the series because of mandatory enlistment in the South Korean army, right after Chapter 68 closed out what is officially called Season 2.

JIN did share one reassurance at the time: a replacement had already been chosen, one of DUBU's former apprentices, to carry on the legacy. What followed was roughly ten months with no new updates and no named successor — until this week's reveal.

What Comes Next for Suho's Story

GameRant lays out the material awaiting the new artist. JIN's run ended mid-confrontation: Suho, aided by Esil and Grey, had joined a high-stakes battle against descendants of the Monarchs — of Plague, Transfiguration, and the Beginning — and that fight has not concluded.

Sanjimseung's chapters will pick up exactly there before moving to Suho's larger struggle against the Itarim.

GameRant suggests the new artist will likely handle the franchise from here onward, adapting the rest of the novel across more seasons after Season 3, with an exact return date still unannounced but a comeback expected within weeks.

Meanwhile, the Franchise Keeps Expanding

The manhwa news lands amid a busy stretch for the broader Solo Leveling universe.

FilmInk reports that Crunchyroll and Aniplex have put Solo Leveling: Beyond the System, a theatrical feature film, into production as a direct continuation of Season 2 (Arise from the Shadows), co-produced with Netmarble, D&C MEDIA, and Kakao Piccoma and animated by A-1 Pictures.

On the gaming side, Instant Gaming News reports that Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE, on PC since November 2025, arrives on PS5 and Xbox Series on November 3.

The Stakes for Fans of Jinwoo and Suho

GameRant frames the return as significant because Ragnarok, while far less popular than the original story without an anime adaptation, expands the universe with new characters and returning favorites.

Fans also shouldn't expect Sung Jinwoo's animated Season 3 imminently: per GameRant, the franchise is prioritizing the Beyond the System film adapting the Ahjin Guild and Return to the Double Dungeon arcs, and it speculates that if the movie succeeds, the anime could shift entirely to film releases — though no confirmation has been given.
