IBW likewise reports that the streamer is developing the movie as part of an expanded partnership with Sesame Workshop. The announcement came alongside an extension of Netflix's deal for the series through Season 62, deepening a relationship that began when the streamer started carrying new episodes and added a collection of more than 100 past episodes and specials in June. No writer has been named, and the only companies identified on the project are Rideback and Sesame Workshop.

What makes the news notable is how much is still unknown, as MEAWW points out: the film has no announced plot, cast, director, writer or release date, and Netflix has not said which characters will appear or whether it would play in theaters before streaming.
