Barry Keoghan let facialist Nilam Holmes film his second $3,300+ Xerf treatment months after online abuse over his looks kept him indoors.
What Happened: A Treatment Caught on Camera
Barry Keoghan appears in an Instagram video posted by U.K. celebrity facialist Nilam Holmes, founder of Dermaspa, showing the Oscar nominee mid-treatment in what the post identifies as his second Xerf skin-tightening session.
Holmes writes in the caption that she has 'been working with Barry for a while now, looking after his skin through different movies, campaigns and projects,' and that 'his skin has really improved over the last few years.'
Holmes explains she was running late filming Xerf content, so rather than make her rush, Keoghan offered to let her film him having the treatment.
The Video: Keoghan Narrates His Own Glow-Up
The clip matters because Keoghan narrates it himself, in his own words, on a facialist's channel rather than in a press interview.
'I've been hearing a lot about it, and Nilam is very excited about it, and she's great at what she does,' he says in the video shared by Holmes, adding that 'every time I come in, it's very relaxing and therapeutic.'
The key line a beauty audience is clipping: 'I feel better about myself; I look better. I think it's important to look after yourself inside and outside.'
For a star who says he withdrew from social media over appearance-based abuse, voluntarily appearing in a treatment video is a striking reversal.
Why It's Surprising: From 'Not Wanting to Go Outside'
Earlier this year, Keoghan went viral for telling SiriusXM's 'The Morning Mash Up' that online 'abuse' over how he looks had made him 'shy away' — 'really go inside myself, not want to attend places, not want to go outside.'
He said he removed himself from social media but would occasionally check how he was received after premieres, and 'most of the time, the reaction is not nice.'
The Evidence: Needle-Free Radio-Frequency Skin Science
Xerf, per Dermaspa's site as quoted by Page Six, is powered by monopolar radio-frequency (RF) and 'reaches several layers beneath the skin in a single session, helping to lift, firm and reshape the jawline and lower face — comfortably, with no needles and zero downtime.'
Variety, citing the clinic, says Xerf forgoes injections and uses radio-frequency technology to tighten skin and renew collagen.
Holmes' roster, as seen on her social pages, includes Chris Appleton, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Joe Alwyn, Nicole Scherzinger and Pink, and she has posted about treating Keoghan before, describing regular sessions to calm inflammation and maintain 'that healthy, rested look' amid disrupted sleep and travel.
Stakes and What Comes Next
For the beauty industry, a male A-list star endorsing a needle-free, zero-downtime tightening device signals where the men's skincare market is heading — and Holmes' celebrity clientele gives Xerf a growing halo.
Keoghan's own framing — looking after yourself 'inside and outside' — suggests the treatment push will continue alongside his projects, with Holmes already teasing more Xerf content. Expect more demand-led coverage of RF tightening, and more stars filming their treatments rather than hiding them.
