Smith as Mafala Hatimbi, with Jay Wilkison and Derrick Williams also featured, as New York Theatre Guide lists it. The bigger news for fans comes next month: original cast members Nikki M. James and Rory O'Malley return for a limited 12-week engagement beginning October 27, running through January 17. Playbill specifies James reprises her Tony-winning role as Nabulungi and O'Malley his Tony-nominated Elder McKinley.

New York Theatre Guide notes the show plays the Eugene O'Neill at 230 West 49th Street with a 2-hour-30-minute runtime, a 13+ age recommendation for explicit language, and 20 songs including 'I Believe' and 'Hello!'. With original stars returning October 27 through January 17, the holiday season could add another box office chapter — meaningful for a production that, as New York Theatre Guide observes, has already reset the O'Neill's house records more than 50 times in 15 years.
