Should I take a principled stance on something, or should I portray myself as a campaign surrogate and act as though I am running for office?" He added, "I've definitely dialed down. I know it doesn't seem like it." He did not clarify which opinions he softened, per Fox News, but suggested the backlash stems from Republicans lacking a strong midterm message.

Piker built his brand on unfiltered antagonism toward power — yet he now concedes self-censoring after campaigning alongside Democrats.
