NFL stadiums including Ford Field and MetLive are posting bug teasers ahead of Noah Kahan's imminent 2027 'Last of the Bugs' tour announcement.
A Countdown, Bugs, and Hangman Blanks
A mysterious countdown has appeared on the Mastercard x Noah Kahan website, and Holler Country reports it is due to expire on Thursday at 9am CDT / 3pm UK time — the moment the 2027 'The Last of the Bugs Tour' announcement is expected to land.
Beneath the heading sits a cryptic poster dotted with the signature insects that popped up around the rollout for his 2026 album 'The Great Divide,' each bug accompanied by hangman-style blanks that seem to hint at tour stops.
Holler names the tour as a major North American summer run, following Kahan's already-confirmed stadium shows across Glasgow, Dublin and London in June 2027.
The NFL Stadiums Dropping the Clues
The giveaway has spread across the country's biggest football venues.
WMTV 15 News reports that Ford Field, home of the Detroit Lions, and Highmark Stadium, home of the Buffalo Bills, both posted snippets of 'The Last of the Bugs' album cover, while Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte and MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, joined the tease.
The Detroit News adds Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara to the list of NFL stadiums posting similar teasers, noting the yellow hue on Ford Field's Instagram stories matches Kahan's website accent color.
WMTV reports Kahan is set to announce 17 more U.S. dates, with tickets going on sale at 10 a.m. after the 9 a.m. Central date drop, according to Mastercard.
Why It's Surprising: Baseball to Football
The surprise is the venue leap. The Detroit News notes Kahan toured Major League Baseball stadiums in 2026, including a four-night Fenway Park stand, and the Boston Globe reports the Vermont native played four sold-out shows at Fenway in July.
Yet of all the venues teasing a tour stop on Wednesday, the Globe says Fenway was the only baseball park — the rest, including MetLife, Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay, Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Ford Field, Bank of America Stadium and Nissan Stadium in Nashville, are football stadiums with vastly greater capacities.
The Globe also reports word around Boston promoters that Fenway and Gillette Stadium had been vying to secure Kahan shows, and that negotiation could be ongoing.
Decoding the Hangman Cities
Holler Country has tried its hand at the poster's blanks, arguing the two-word names are the easiest to crack. The 3–5-letter name, it suggests, could be Las Vegas — pointing to Allegiant Stadium given Kahan's stadium stature.
The 3–9 combination, Holler reasons, is hard to read as anything other than San Francisco, which would mean Levi's Stadium, and the 4–10 name could be Fort Lauderdale, home to Chase Stadium.
Those are guesses, and Holler is careful to say the official announcement is needed to know which cities the 'Stick Season' hitmaker will play — but the pattern suggests a stadium-sized summer, consistent with the venues posting the bug teasers.
The Payphone Tease That Started It
Kahan himself has been telegraphing this for weeks.
Holler Country recalls that toward the end of his 2026 North American run, the 'Porch Light' singer-songwriter teased 2027 shows during his much-loved payphone section, joking, "Hello? God, of all religions? I know you're sad that the tour is almost over. Oh, I should tour again next summer?" before continuing, "We'll see. Oh, I'll go to hell if I don't? Okay, f***. Well, Jews can't go to hell, I thought? Okay, we'll see. Love you." The Globe adds that Kahan arrived at last month's Emmy Awards wearing a bug pin, while WMTV notes he is currently performing in Scotland, will wrap 2026 in Paris and kicks off 2027 in Cancún, Mexico.
What Comes Next Thursday
The timing detail differs slightly across outlets: Holler Country and WMTV both report the countdown ends Thursday morning, with WXYZ pegging it at 11 a.m. ET, while the Detroit News writes that the dates are set to be announced on Oct.
28. Either way, the reveal is imminent.
WMTV reports FPC Live — the Madison promoter that posted the album art alongside photos of the Majestic Theatre and the Sylvee, and tagged the UW Badgers, who reposted a suspicious eyes emoji above Camp Randall — has not responded to requests for comment.
The Detroit News notes Kahan already has U.K. dates on the books for July 2027, including a three-night Wembley Stadium stand, July 23–25.
