Cameron Mackintosh has extended Les Misérables at the Sondheim Theatre into its record-breaking 42nd year, with tickets now on sale until 2 October 2027.

Cameron Mackintosh has announced that the West End production of Boublil and Schönberg's Les Misérables will further extend at the Sondheim Theatre through its record-breaking 42nd year. According to the official Les Misérables London site and The Arts Shelf, tickets for performances until 2 October 2027 can now be purchased at london.lesmis.com.
Who is currently leading the barricade
Both outlets confirm the same principal cast: Ian McIntosh as Jean Valjean, Oliver Savile as Javert, Stefanie Jones as Fantine, Harry Hepple as Thénardier, Mina Anwar as Madame Thénardier, Jess Folley as Éponine, Thiago Phillip Felizardo as Marius, Joe Griffiths-Brown as Enjolras and Lucia McLaughlin as Cosette. A large supporting company — including Joanna Adaran, Sarah Lark, Georgia Tapp and Joey Zerpa-Falcon — completes the ensemble.
Why the numbers still stun
The production's official site reports that Les Misérables has been seen by over 150 million people worldwide in 57 countries and translated into 22 languages, with more than 275 major awards including 8 Tony Awards and 5 Olivier Awards — among them a special recognition award in April 2025 — plus Best West End Show at the 2026 WhatsOnStage Awards. The Arts Shelf notes the show celebrated its 40th West End birthday last October, and that First Night Records released Les Misérables: The 40th Anniversary All-Star Cast recording on 29 May 2026, available on streaming and as a double CD.
Beyond London: the franchise keeps scoring
According to Les Misérables London, the Arena Concert Spectacular concluded its world tour this summer with a cast and orchestra of 65, having sold over 1.3 million tickets across 35 cities, while the Spanish-language production Los Miserables continues at the Teatro Apolo in Madrid after winning four national Talia Awards, including Best Musical. Both publishers describe Les Misérables as the longest-running musical in the world, based on Victor Hugo's novel, with music by Claude-Michel Schönberg, lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer and original French text by Alain Boublil and Jean-Marc Natel. With bookings now running to 2 October 2027, the Sondheim production shows no sign of slowing its record-breaking run.
