Phantom of the Opera adds three principals from November 23 and extends His Majesty's Theatre bookings through October 2027.
Three New Principals Join From November 23
Both Playbill and London Theatre report that Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera will welcome three new cast members at His Majesty's Theatre later this month.
Beginning November 23, 2026, Kimberly Blake takes over as Carlotta, Kate Graham becomes Madame Giry, and Luke Kempner steps into Monsieur André. Ashley Gilmour also returns as Raoul, Vicomte de Chagny.
They join the company that recently marked the show's landmark 40th anniversary, alongside Jordan Donica as the Phantom, Beatrice Penny-Touré as Christine Daaé, Matt Bateman as Piangi, Ian Pirie as Monsieur Firmin, and Millie Lyon as Meg, with Colleen Rose Curran playing Christine at certain performances.
London Theatre additionally reports that booking has been extended through October 2027, signalling long-term confidence in the veteran production.
The Gala That Reunited Crawford and Brightman
The cast refresh follows a milestone evening. Playbill's Andrew Gans reports that the production has released photos from its October 9 gala performance at His Majesty's Theatre, which celebrated 40 years of the musical in the West End.
For vocal-theatre enthusiasts, the pairing is the kind of once-in-a-generation convergence that rarely recurs around a single composer's flagship work. Playbill also reports that the 40th-anniversary performance was filmed and will be released globally in 2027.
Why Forty Years On, the Cast Still Matters
A production this old could coast on its staging, yet both outlets frame the new arrivals as genuine casting news for singing fans.
London Theatre notes the show is the second-longest-running musical in the West End, and that the score — with classics like "Music of the Night," "All I Ask of You" and "Think of Me" — remains the draw, so who sings Carlotta's operatic patter and Madame Giry's gravitas matters to the nightly experience.
London Theatre also details the show's practical facts for newcomers: a running time of two hours 30 minutes including a 20-minute interval, a recommended age of 8 and up, and performances at His Majesty's Theatre at 57 Haymarket.
The new principals get months to settle in before the booking window closes.
What Comes Next for the Phantom Brand
The stakes extend beyond one theatre.
Playbill notes the New York production closed April 16, 2023 at the Majestic as the longest-running show in Broadway history, while a reimagined immersive revival titled Masquerade currently plays Off-Broadway on West 57th Street — meaning London's His Majesty's company is now the flagship traditional staging.
Playbill credits the musical to Lloyd Webber with lyrics by Charles Hart and additional lyrics by Richard Stilgoe, a book by Stilgoe and Lloyd Webber from Gaston Leroux's novel, original direction by Harold Prince and current direction by Seth Sklar-Heyn, and says the show is produced in London by Mackintosh and LW Entertainment.
With tickets on sale through October 2027 and a filmed anniversary special due in 2027, the next year is crowded.
