Taylor Swift attends the CMA Awards Nov. 18 after a 10-year absence, joining a 60th-anniversary lineup with Ella Langley and a Dolly Parton tribute.

A Decade Away Ends in Nashville

Backstage Country reports that Taylor Swift will attend the 2026 CMA Awards for the first time in ten years, after earning a Single of the Year nomination for "I Knew It, I Knew You."

WSET adds that the song is featured in Toy Story 5 and that Swift announced her attendance on Instagram, writing, "LOOKS LIKE I HAVEN'T YEE'D MY LAST HAW THANK YOU CMA!!!! See you there Nov. 18 🤠."

For a show celebrating its 60th anniversary, the return of one of country's most famous alumnae gives the milestone night an extra hook beyond the trophies themselves.

The First Round of Performers

Per Billboard, the initial performer lineup includes Kacey Musgraves, Cody Johnson, Miranda Lambert, The Red Clay Strays, Zach Top and Tucker Wetmore, plus Ella Langley, whose "Choosin' Texas" has dominated the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 this year.

Rolling Stone notes several of these acts — Langley, Musgraves, the Red Clay Strays, Top, Lambert and Wetmore — also performed at 2025's show, making Cody Johnson and Tim McGraw the notable additions.

Rolling Stone also points out that McGraw's appearance will be his first at the CMAs since 2017, when he and Faith Hill performed their nominated duet "The Rest of Our Life."

Tim McGraw's Banner Year

Billboard highlights that Tim McGraw was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame just last month, making his return to the CMA stage a Hall of Famer's homecoming.

Rolling Stone adds that McGraw kicked off his residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas this week, describing 2026 as a banner year for him.

The outlet speculates about which song McGraw will bring and whether other duets could emerge, since the Country Music Association has not yet announced what any of the performers plan to play or whether artists will collaborate with one another on the Bridgestone Arena stage.

A Tribute to Dolly Parton

Multiple outlets confirm the show will honor the late Dolly Parton, the Country Music Hall of Fame member who died in August. Billboard reports the CMAs will pay tribute to her, and Rolling Stone predicts the segment will be star-studded.

WSET also lists the tribute as part of the evening's plan inside Nashville's Bridgestone Arena.

Langley Leads a Record-Setting Nominations Field

Ella Langley heads into the night with nine nominations, the most of any artist this year, including entertainer, album for Dandelion, female vocalist, musical event and music video of the year, plus two single and two song of the year nods, per Billboard.

Miranda Lambert follows with seven, including her 19th female vocalist nomination — Billboard notes her 70 career nominations are the most ever by a female artist, and Rolling Stone points out she achieved this in a year without a new record, with Crisco not eligible until 2027.

Musgraves has five nods, and Johnson, the reigning male vocalist, has four.

How to Watch and What Comes Next

The 60th annual CMA Awards air live from Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday, Nov. 18, on ABC and Disney+, with streaming available the next day on Hulu — details corroborated by Billboard, Backstage Country and WSET.

Lainey Wilson, the reigning entertainer of the year, hosts for a third consecutive year and told fans, per Backstage Country, that the 60th-anniversary edition is "going to be extra special."

Rolling Stone flags the open questions: setlists and collaborations remain unannounced, leaving room for surprises like a Langley–Lambert duet or a Spanish-language moment from Musgraves as final voting rounds play out.
